OK, so for the Birthday Party fans on this board, which release do you dig the most?

In a shameless attempt to bunp my own thread, I just voted for "Junkyard". If there's a 'most influential LP ever' for me, it's this piece of genius.

I was going to get something from them. They sound great, but I don't have anyhting from them... damnit.
Oh yes, durning the Dinosaur Jr. Dinosaur era, J wanted to be like Cave and the whole band was majorly influenced by them. S |

Release The Bats, because it's a great single, the first thing most people heard/liked by them, and it takes me back to a certain time in my life.

Junkyard and The Bad Seed EP are both tops for me, but I voted Junkyard.

I think of BP in a similar way to the way I see Pussy Galore.
Two great bands that utilised, without being totally dominated by, their frontman. When Nick Cave was given a freer reign with the Bad Seeds, as with Jon Spencer in the Blues Explosion, things got a lot less interesting. |

Junkyard is probably in my top7 albums of all time.
But everything I've heard by TBP is good or great even at its worst. Should you include the Live 81-82 in the poll? |

Here's Nick looking very Iggy back in the BP days (hyperlinked to the photog's FLickr Page!)
And here's a zine a friend of mine put out in '81 or '82 with Nick on the cover SMILING! (O.k., grinning, but still...) She deserves some sort of journalistic excellence award for catching that once in a life time moment. (hyperlinked to her photo page with way more details about the moment.) |

I'll second the call for 81-82 to be in there. I burnt out on Junkyard/ The bad seed EP a while ago, so the live jobby jolted me back in the hizzy with them. Say something/ Express yourself [xforever]
