Do you mean Cast, the band from Liverpool? If you do, you are going to get so flamed.

I think he/she means CAST, the band from Liverpool. If you are really gonna do some damage to your ears, you might as well go for Da La's, the band John Power (is that his name?) was in before. Highly overrated turd (apart from you know what song), but certainly better than Cast.

I think all the discography is likely to be utter tripe - little, if any, better than Ocean Colour Scene.

There's nothing worse than seeing 40 year old men with Beatles haircuts. I have seen one the other day at the bus stop. He looked 40 and he had a greying Beatles haircut. So sad, you should either go short or bald at that age.

One of the things that irritates me about Cast is the way that they act like they're God's gift to music, when in fact they're a bunch of poor imitations. And worse than that, they're a poor imitation of a poor imitation. The musical equivalent of Primark.

that means the kooks are a poor imitation of a poor imitation of a poor imitation. A poor imitation cubed if you like.

The Kooks are everything that is wrong with music in Britain today. The Fratellis are so rubbish, you feel like worrying about the future of the kids who listen to them. They are like the musical equivalent of cheap booze and junk food.

Good analogy, that junk food one. Music for people who are too lazy to look for proper music.

I think The Kooks are the eqivolant of the shitty Pizza menu you get pushed through your letterbox; "Shall we get a takeaway?" "Er, yeah alright, shall we just have something off this *picks up menu*?" "Ah man, that place is crap" "Yeah well, i cant be arsed" "ok" and FAME IS THEIRS! |

I used to like them when i was about six, along with all the other britpop groups around at the time. Blur were my favourite band!

ah ok that's it : Cast was formed in 1993 by John Power, the former bassist of The La's. They released four albums between 1995 and 2001. Cast were at the height of their popularity during the mid-90's Britpop movements. Whilst popular, they were seen as one of the "lesser" bands of the moment, often overshadowed by the likes of more popular bands such as Blur, Oasis and Pulp. It has been suggested that the name "Cast" was taken from the final line of the final song on The La's eponymous (and only) album. The song "Looking Glass" ends with the line ""The stone is cast, the glass is smashed".
the la la la la the la la la's!! oh what's that? never crossed this road but i'll try to figure it out at the time.. unless anyone knows? |

I still totally love that band. It's funny, while I agree with the opinions expressed in this thread, I'd much rather hang around with Cast fans than Sonic Youth fans. Isn't that a funny thing?
