took my permit test today... failed.
mostly stupid questions like, how long is your license revoked after a DUI and other things that have no bearing on testing my ability to drive. i just read the whole book and im taking the test again tommorow

Some of you know this, some of you don't:
I taught driver's ed lessons for four years, 2001-2005. I have stories. Good ones and lots. |

Haha, wierd.
I took mine Tuesday and failed. I didn't study or read the book at all. I figured it'd be common sense. I failed the eye test as well and had to get glasses. |

i love how if you get enough questions right on the permit test it'll just stop automatically. i mean, if they really wanted you to know this stuff wouldn't they want you to know ALL of it instead of just enough random nonsense to pass?
at any rate, park 15 feet from a fire hydrant, keep back 500 feet from an ambulance (and pull over if it has sirens on and is coming toward you), stop on both sides of an undivided highway for a school bus, .08 is the cutoff point for bac while driving, etc., etc.

I passed the permit test right away, but failed the driving test.
Apparently the way my mom taught me to drive a stick shift was not "correct." Took it the 2nd time in an automatic and passed. I was a professional driver for many years. There are zillions of barely qualified drivers on the road, so don't sweat it too hard. just try to be a good driver after you get the certification. |

No, but good guess. I didn't get along with that guy too well--he was a serious born-again christian and kind of a jerk.

My girlfriend's dad worked next to the driver's station and had keys, so he let me practice the course when it was closed. Got an 89 on the test.

I think when I go for the liscense, ill stick to big roads. Its so much easier, get the small stuff out of the way and do the majority of BIG roads.
