Just a heads up for those Seattle area fans attending Thurston's show tomorrow... the Nels Cline Singers are playing at the Triple Door, not too far away from Neumo's, as well, but there's an early show at 7, which you can probably catch before Thurston hits the stage (doors for Thurston are at 8). There's a 9pm late show for Nels too, but I definitely need me some "Blue turns to silver and silver smiles, silver smiles a crocodile mile, oh yeah".
Hell, Thurston might even be there! AND I HOPE YOU'RE ALL GOING TO NEIL YOUNG TONIGHT.

I wish I won the melon! I was more towards the back of the room and didn't know the answer... But the show was awesome... and I find it funny that Chris was there. I have had contact with him in the past but I have never met him. I wouldn't even recognize him... But man, what a great band Thurston put together! Loved it!!! |

what's funnier (maybe) is that the whole band was staying at the same [not great] hotel that i was. we had seen steve at the neil young show the night before, and there he was in the lobby on the way to soundcheck when we were trying to go for dinner (our cab never came, is that a common trend among seattle cabs?).
as for the nels cline singers set, he did mention all of the pieces by name at the end but i only remember "blues, too" "something about david H" (i think), and he mentioned one was off of the new album. there were 2 others, sorry.
