i am not sure when it begins but Iowa city has the summer writing festival where one could sign up for writing workshops. other than that i don't know anything about it.

Iowa City is the one place in the world I know like the back of my hand. Actually, Saturday night we're going with some friends to Gabes to see Heartless Bastards. Pretty good roots rock band playing in an old hippie bar, where, right across the street from the ICPD, people used to smoke pot on the outdoor patio.
