Correct, sir. Soavi is a terrific director. I really, really liked that film. It was like watching a painting. Beautiful.

well frankly, I love this movie he did, the US title should be THE SECT... freaky trippy little thingie. the dude's crazy - not super crazy but you know. I liked that atmosphere. I know what you mean.
you should check out the DYLAN DOG comic, it's got nothing to do with CEMETARY MAN, even if it shares some coincidences here and there... |

Is THE SECT the same as THE CHURCH? I think I've seen it. He also did STAGE FRIGHT.

no no no! i didn't really appreciate THE CHURCH. THE SECT is a whole different thing, and it's also one of the inspirers to the SILENT HILL 1999 vg... you should check it out, it is very tripped out!!!

I actually like the SH movie. I dnt usually check out VG movies, but since Roger Avary wrote the screenplay, I thought I'd check it.

no no no - I meant - if you enjoyed SILENT HILL (the VG), you're gonna love THE MOVIE I was talking about, "THE SECT" by Michele Soavi.
I consider myself a true aficionado of Silent Hill (the 1st one is in my opinion a work of art... the 3rd is also very good, but obviously can't compare) but the movie had nothing to do with the VG and it wasn't close to its greatness in any way. I think that the SILENT HILL movie we all wished for came out last year in cinemas, and it was titled THE MIST (out of the novella which served as the main inspiration for Konami developers behind SH). Darabont and King made kickass horror cinema there. |
