i just tried it but it didn't really work, by the time the kettle had boiled the milk was still white and i ended up having too much milk. i think i'll stick to the proper way

I put the milk in first. I know it's the 'wrong' way but it works for me.

I bung the teabag in the mug, pour in a little milk and wait for the kettle to boil. Tea tastes the same no matter what order you do it in.

Indian-style - boil the water with the tea/ milk in a pan. It's a very different way of doing things. Not to everyone's taste.

But yeah, milk before water in a single cup is just fliddery for rems.

If I have milk in it, I put it in after ive filled the cup with water.
Doing it reversed would be fucking stupid.. but I rarely have milk in tea.
