The Shop Assistants were one of the greatest bands ever to walk this earth.
Wooden Shjips had much promised on their behalf, but didn't really deliver. White Hills do a very nice take on the whole post-Loop/Spacemen 3 drone/psych thing, with a bit of extra heaviness thrown in for good luck. I'm not sure that their legacy will be as great as that of their influences though. |

I only really know Wooden Shjips (over-rated sub-Hawkwind tosh when witnessed live, pretty average on record), and the Shop Assistants (wonderful)
EDIT - Didn't see The Heads mentioned when I first read this! - those guys totally kill live, and the records I've heard have been ace. Easily one of my fave current UK acts.

I know a guy from Yellow Tears. They are FACE-MELTING live, but I think I'm out of my harsh noise phase.

I like Sachiko a lot, but the bias is too strong for me to be objective. Too close to home, that one.

i only know wooden shjips. their album is excellent
it has a great groovey doors/noise rock vibe or something... its a shame you guys say they suck live, it sounds like music that would transfer well to a live setting
