on Aug 1st. An exclusive 9 min song by each, the Thurston Moore one is
called "Female Body Inspector" and the Monster Dudes one is called "Monster Tape".

You mean, do subscription based music type things... where you pay once and get new music sent every month or whatever? a few of the large indies i know have done it in the past (subpop, krs). this is the 2nd year we've done the tape club through deathbomb arc. this year another LA label called not not fun did a 6 mont 7" club that was offered in conjunction with this tape club, but unfortunatly they sold out of all the 7"s they made already... with tapes there is no limit which is nice.
anyway, i dont know who else is doing them right now. long answer for no info.

there is a monster dudes documentary that has been in the works for a couple years now. not sure when it will come out... they may be planning on filming for like 18 years (to show venec growing up) before releasing it.

for those that dont know, monster dudes is a father/son band that started a couple years ago when the son was only 3 or 4.

three lobed has a cd club with mirror/dash, sunburned, wooden wand, mv/ee, kinski, bardo pond and others i forgot about.

there's also the melted mailbox thing with sunroof!, keith fullerton whitman and ariel pink among others, it's a one sided 12" with etching on the other side.

the not not fun 7"s are awesome, they go from ok to really amazing.

i think i'm getting my second batch of deathbomb arc in august and i think the thurston tape is going to be in there.

the three lobed cd club sounds awesome, but the melted mailbox is waaaay too expensive for ariel pink and some dudes/dudettes.

i got the not not fun afrirampo/hospitals 7" and it's awesomazing.

sword heaven is my favorite band in the nnf series. their combination of wardrums and metalnoise is fierce. i know people that have cut the name sword heaven into their bodies ala slayer scars. i feel like i understand why. if you ever see them live, you'll understand why too!

been up all night packing up tape club orders because yes, the thurston moore tapes start going out today. im tired as hell, but thank you everyone for subscribing and making this thing a sucess.

awesome. when you sign up, include a note that you read about the club at sonicyouth.com and ill throw something extra for you.

also, in the related type stuff, 4 solo acts on my label, Deathbomb Arc, that are all doing split vinyl releases w/ Thurston Moore soon (also on my label as well) leave on a west coast tour this friday. unfortunatly i couldnt get the vinyl splits with TM out in time for this tour, but all the acts are still highly recommended. you can read about this tour here:
