I bought some cds and stuff for my boyfriend. A book of poetry for my dad. A George Michael CD for my mum (urgh, but she LOVES him). Some really nice drawing pens for my cousin (a budding artist). And a load of stuff for myself

No. No christmas shopping for me at all, ever. I will buy some food for the communal family feeding frenzy which will happen on boxing day but no gifts will be given or recieved by me this Christmas...it's better for everyone that way.

Do you not know that shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving Day is hazardous to one's health and sanity!?

My sister had to work from 11 last night until 8 in the morning because Old Navy opened at midnight. I don't understand. She said there was a line at 11:30 (and I live in a pretty small town). That seems pretty pathetic to me. Sleep! I could never go out shopping today.

I just hate shopping though crowds of people in late December. Also, I have money now, which I am likely to spend before I get round to buying presents if I leave it any longer.

I've only went to the shopping mall once before on Black Friday. You know, it was kind of fun, because I had never seen that many people congregate in one place to do absolutely nothing.
But really the best time to go is right after Christmas because the whole place goes on clearance.

I ordered all my presents on Amazon-
Brave New World for my oldest sister Polaris- Music from the Adventures of Pete and Pete for my little sister Pink Floyd- Live at Pompeii for my little brother Ali G In Da House for my oldest sister's commonlaw husband The 'Burbs DVD for my Dad (his favorite movie) The Brothers Karamazov for my Mom Just have to get something for my nephew, then I'll be done Spent almost all of my money from my grandparents for my birthday. Oh well. I'm spending the money from my parents on sending my eminence speaker back for warranty service, amp tech bills (because my speakers were screwy I though something was wrong with my head, all it needed was a new preamp tube, which I already knew.) as well as some strings. |

My son made me take him out to the mall to pick up the new Zelda game for the Nintendo Wii, even though he doesn't have the Wii yet. There were only 3 games in stock at the store when he called and he wanted to go "right now!" so he could make sure to get one, and so being the kind-hearted dad I am, I obliged. It wasn't as crazy as I imagined it would be, but it was crazy enough.

My son and I went Sunday morning to the mall an hour before Best Buy opened to stand in line for a Nintendo Wii. Salesclerks came out and handed out tickets for the thing to the first 100 or so of us idiots standing in the line. Apparently we arrived way too late, as we were about another 100 people back from the last ticket receiver. I think some of these people had camped out all night. There were tents and sleeping bags. This is just nuts. I hate it.
