Still, in all fairness, the guy was resisting arrest. And it's not like the officer had him in a chokehold for 20 minutes or some shit. It was literally something like 15 seconds, enough to cuff the guy. And he didn't mention a damned thing about asthma until after the officers had to use force in order to cuff 'em. Still...shit's sad. Sad when anyone dies especially when it's not necessary. Still seems like an accident to me though.

The chokehold is the problem, it is illegal. That is why people are upset. If only he had passively accepted his oppression, and he wouldn't be dead. the next time someone says we're a free country tell them to go try and sell some loose cigs on Staten Island.

For those of you who aren't aware, most of us in NYC look at the 5th borough as an enclave of mafia and right wing gated communities. We should just sell it to New Jersey but i think they pay a lot of taxes .

if that was your response to the article i linked, you missed the point by the width of the galaxy. the point of the argument is that these are not "accidents" but this is what the police is designed to do. whether you agree with it or not, it's a very provocative notion and an interesting point of view to consider.
