I just spent the day recording a bunch of pieces with one of my friends. Its not the kind of music i would do with my 'real' band (usually its more Smashing Pumpkins meets Radiohead). It was created out of frustration when trying to get one of my other songs down wasn't going so well. Anyway its just a load of crazy stuff we had a lot of fun making, always wanted to do something like it, thought you guys might be at least mildly interested...
So any aspiring music critics be easy on us Cheak out 'Televison Conspirasy' and 'Wasp Piece'...those are the 2 best ones i think... www.myspace.com/sirchickpaulatkins

On a slightly more 'with it' listening. I do think Television Conspiracy is pretty good. The tribal feeling is awesome and the screaming makes it sounds very mystic

Interesting stuff.Did you use one of those pre-programmed piano chords on one of the tracks?

If you notice the screaming comes after every advert, we placed it there by accident and it worked so we keep doing it.We got a continuous track of television static which over the top gives it the more creeper sound

Theres one piano sample on 'Death of Mermaid' but apart from the drum loops its all created through Guitar, television static and Microphones

I like using that kind of tv static sound to compose.I have this particularly good piece of music on a podcast at home that was created sampling and looping am radio waves.I've had a go at doing something along those lines but it was shite. What do you use to record?

Cubase, and my friend's Boss effects pedal. I did another piece kind of like 'Television Conspiracy' using audio footage of the war in Iraq but It was the static that brought this one more to life. Its difficult to try and do things original, because its a genre where everything has kinda been done before.

The first track makes me think of "Just Fascination"-era Cabaret Voltaire (which is a good thing).

Death Of a Mermaid isn't bad either.I wouldn't so much worry about originality but i'd concentrate into following your own intuitions on what you can and want to do with your music. You seem to have a rough idea of where you are going which is always a good start.
