Okay, so I know 4 or 5 NO songs, and they have blown me away. I want to know where to go next, but based on "Bizarre Love Triangle" and some of their other stuff, I am a bit apprehensive - I'm not a huge fan of super synthy stuff.
My two favorites in particular are "Age of Consent" and "Ceremony" (and yes, it's shameful but obvious - my knowledge is restricted to the Marie Antoinette trailers.) What sounds the most like that stuff? I plan on buying something on iTunes, but I'm worried b/c the singles collections have bad reviews, and I'm not really a fan of the idea of singles. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! |

Get "Movement" from 1981. It is pretty "rock" compared to a lot of their stuff and is a personal favorite of mine. It's their first album and has quite a few great tracks.

Most of New Order is synthy...But actually the album with Bizzare Love Triangle on it is one of their most guitar-based albums: Brotherhood.
But yeah, if that's what you like, buy Movement. You might like disc 2 of the Substance CD as well.

I need more information. You just want the New Order that sounds like Joy Division?

I have Substance and really like it. I would recommend starting there, I guess.
