Los Llamaradas are really good. That's the only band I have heard. This is only coming from one cd though.

Love the Sic Alps record. Heard good things about Fabulous Diamonds, must check into that shit. Other than that, I drew a blank on the rest of that list you obscure bastard.

My opinion is that I have only heard of three of these bands.
Come to think of it, that is a fact.

My opinion is that I should learn to differenciate between opinions and facts. Or maybe that is a fact?

I feel particular ashamed to say that I've not even heard of any of these bands, let alone actually heard them.

The ep which the avant label put out recently is great. The new record, 'Take The Sky', is just fantastic, though. I'm not sure which songs are my favourite on it, 'the miracle sleep' and 'stressa closer' are close contenders. The whole record reminded me of SY at the peak of their powers.

I'm listening to Soundliketrains which is available for free download here... it's very crunchy and lo-fi and as far as I can gather it's a compilation of material from 2002 to 2004. Not sure how representative it is of their current sound... I'll investigate the new one and report back.
Anyone know of any other Mexican bands worth checking out?

Blank Dogs/Sic Alps is my favorite thing there. Chippendale is the gnarliest musician alive, and despire every Black Pus album being pretty much the same, its always great.
