I'm making a flying visit to Brussells in a couple of weeks. Has anyone got any recommendations for places I must see, things I must do, shops I must shop, or places I must eat. I already have plans for the evening, so it's only the daytime I'm interested in suggestions for.
Thanks. |

yeah but it's tiny and not really the most interesting place in brussels, i think.
actually someone spraypainted that on a wall here and wrote 'saves you a trip to brussels' underneath it. |

Brussels is pretty boring actually.
Check out the nieuwstraat there's lot of shops there and stuff. It's between the Rogierplein and the Muntplein.

Or just go to a bar. In the Celtica, close to Bourse, it's happy hour from noon 'till midnight! 1€ a beer.

that's why i said to take a train to antwerp :P ghent is nice if you like authentic-looking old building and a cosy atmosphere. and that shopping street always makes me feel uncomfortable. |

I've only been there once, since I'm not that fond of shopping. But I can't think of anything else to do there during the daytime. If you want to buy some belgian chocolate you can practically do so everywhere. Brussels is filled with these "authentic" chocolate stores. And if you want to have a nice meal (and if you're willing to pay big for it), there are some nice restaurants at the grote markt.
