watched thios over the weekend with wife, as it was directed by the late Bill Paxton. creepy film. gives insight into what it is like to grow up as the child of a psychopath/mentally ill schizophrenic. Paxton is great as the self-deluded father who is tasked by god to kill demons only he can see. I give it 7/10

La La Land.
7.5/10 A bit uneven and awkward at times. Emma Stone too often looks like she's making (not on purpose of course) funny faces, she's a decent dancer and is a very good singer though.

I saw this way back when... many years ago... when my girlfriend and I were looking for disturbing horror movies for some reason. Not really a proper horror film, but it was at the top of some list so we watched. To be honest I remember thinking it was almost laughably shit. But I'm not sure how much of it I remember. Mcconaughey pre-rebrand, right? |

Hey there. I'm not sure what kind of gear you have, but it's totally available for rent on iTunes ($3.99 for standard, $4.99 for HD, or you can buy). Actually gear isn't much of an issue because iTunes is free software — can't install it in a non Apple phone or tablet, but it certainly works on PCs. Also I just did a quick search and it appears to be available to stream or rent on Amazon. Amazon pisses me off because some shit only works if you have prime, and the benefits of having prime are slim, but it does give you access to movies on-demand... and this is exactly the kind of movie they'd offer up as part of their "unlimited" library (nothing new, nothing people are clamoring to see, but stuff like this, sure.) Anyway. Not sure if this helps, or if you have a good enough connection to take advantages of it, but it's certainly out there. Fucking classic movie too. |

same here i'm so fucking addled, but in a good way. office work! oodles of it! swamped! i kinda liked it. oh yes-- the thing-- i found it independently/simultaneously. we must have been looking at the same time. the issue of internet on a donkey cart is separate. sounds like comedy, but no-- i have to go elsewhere to offline the files i might get an apple tv so i can pump shit from the thing to the it can you do that w/ netflix? see, i'm rambling now. |

I don't know much about Apple TV. I should, because I'm, like, kind of an Apple dude, just because it's so goddamn easy. But it's just a box that allows you to sync up your iCloud and iTunes shit trough your tv. It's not an actual tv. But still... I'm sure Netflix is compatible with it. There's an iOS / OS X Netflix app, so... makes sense. But if connectivity is your issue, I'm not sure Apple TV will help. It doesn't transmit wifi or anything. It's basically a Bluetooth device. If you already have an iPhone or iPad with with 4G, or if you already have a wifi network, the Apple TV received can act as a hotstpot, but again, it doesn't send the signals. Apple is very weird about that. Like, if they offered actual internet service in addition to devices, they'd have a lock on the market of pretty much everything. But I'm sure they have contracts with Verizon and Sprint that they don't want to fuck up. Lotsa $$$ in iProducts live at the Verizon store. |

no the apple tv is just so i can beam my ipad to the big screen + speakers
see: prime lets you offline files for later viewing so i go to town with the ipad, load up all the mozarts in the jungle or whatever (monica bellucci!!), come home... ...and because this shit doesn't have an hdmi out (i know, rob, i know) i have to use an apple tv to pump it into the bigly (lol)\\\\** actually, scratch that. there's an hdmi out adapter. but looks like a pain. anyway, resuming older post now \\\ not gonna be streaming from itunes any time soon ha ha. no thanks. prime is included with all my free shippings anyway. |

Everyone laughs when I suggest iTunes, but it works for me. I wish they had a rent feature for TV shows. I just hate Amazon man. Hate that prime shit. I don't order enough stuff to make it worthwhile, and the other benefits seem vaguely defined and stupid. Plus I've been charged twice several times for rentals and I've had to contact the derps at customer service and ask for my $2.99 back and that's a huge pain in the ass.
Meh. I like that you can rent movies on iTunes. If you do the whole Apple thing it's way more convenient than Redbox or whatever. |

living in rural 'merica without an abundance of shopping options amazon is a huge lifeline for me. from specialty foods to car parts at 1/2 price than o'reillys to art supplies to electronics, oh, and i'm reminded of my wife's hippy nail polish, amazon is my walmart of the sky. i order from them at least twice a month. makes living in the boonies very convenient. so, for $100 year i get free 2-day shipping. and the side benefits i really don't mind. they're a bit trashy but it's just like free merch and i'd be a fool to say no to it. i still have to explore all the "benefits". and actually a couple of times i actually rented hard-to-find movies from them (yes, i do on occasion) they refunded me cuz of my bad connection a ha ha ha. oh yea, a 6 month initial free subscription to the washington post and $4/month thereafter is one perk you might like, you internet pirate. there are others but it's up to the customer |
