i love it, i bought the body only, then a cheap canon lens (only $150 au for the lens) just need to save now to get some decent lenses starting with a wide. The one i bought is 75-300mm.

I have that lens. It's not bad, but it has a softness about it. Doesn't produce bad pictures, mind, but doesn't produce sharp pictures either.

you won't regret buying it.
i'm more of a pentaxian, but canon is a wise choice when it comes to really good cameras.
Mr. Herman deserves a good cam so he could take even greater photos on his round-the-world indie-jones type of trips. haha.
