Only in America would Doc Martins be associated with lesbians. In the UK they're commonly worn by "Bovver Boys" and "Boot Boys", like this bunch.

"Bovver Boys" and "Boot Boys" have never worn baseball caps. If some of them are wearing headgear, it's usually Pork Pie Hats or rolled up balaclava helmets.
