yeah, he did. Aged 75. He's the most internationally acclaimed Dutch actor, and the muse of Paul Verhoeven. Paul called him his alter-ego. They both started their careers together, and then at some point both moved to the US because the Dutch film market is too small. But what I didn't know (and don't care to be honest but still), Rutger still continued to live on a secluded farm in the north of my country, instead of settling in the US. Perhaps it's time that I watch his debut movie Turkish Delight, it got an Oscar nomination back then for best foreign movie. I'm not sure if I ever watched it at least not for a long long time. I have a general dislike for Dutch movies ... pretty sure it will be rebroadcast on TV in a few days time.

Have not seen this, but need to check it out. I have a serious crush on Dushku, which grew even stronger when I realized I share a birthday with her. We are cosmically connected. And yes, I am well aware of how creepy that just came off... |

that's why I don't like most Dutch movies, it's basically all soft-porn.

Haha. I know. Totally creepy, but it actually is true. And even creepier that I am so proud of it! And if she is not in it much, than maybe I won't. |

she has a key role in the story but it's just played out in 2 scenes, plus a small bit that doesn't even count as a scene in my mind. maybe just find those sequences on youtube, and be done. or if you're interested in wine mythology, watch the whole thing (even though it's factually false in many aspects, with one of the people portrayed having threatened to sue). but nevertheless there's some truth to the whole story and yes, the american wines won the fucking contest. i'd google her scenes for you but my search is broken. my whole internet is actually hanging by a thread. summer living! lol |

IOnce Upon a Time in Hollywood. The theatre close by has $5 matinee's before 11 AM. Watched this yesterday with Mrs. Instigator. I enjoyed it, and was entertained. I think Tarantino is trying something new, trying to reflect his experience in Hollywood instead of his experience as a fan of Hollywood. Right now I would give it a 7-8/10. That may go up on re-watch.

just started aquaman, i’m staring at nicole kidman’s silicone duck bill
wtf did she get done to her face - the neverending music is fucking awful wow this movie sucks khal drogo is okay though, but whoever wrote this fucking dialogue should be shot — and wtf happened to willem dafoe’s voice? jeezus... — amber heard is the poor man’s scarlett xD (she’s hot though... ) — “it worked for pinocchio” is the first good line in this flick — ofc there has to be a token thug.... ufffff... -- attack of the crawfish! lmao — predictable plot — nicole kidman looking like robocop — and now godzilla makes an entrance. lil’ bit of everything in this mishmash — insufferable orchestra — fucking awful |

Watched Trek V last night. I know a lot of Trekkerians look down on this film, and I understand why, but I really like it. It is like an extended TOS episode, and knowing that 3/4 of the way through filming Paramount took away about 6 million dollars of FX budget, forcing Shatner (directing) to find work-arounds, and use staging and lighting to better effect. The sequence when Kirk faces Sybok and asserts that Kirk NEEDS his pain, that it is what makes him who he is, is very fucking cool.
"what does god need with a starship?"

Also re-watched this
What We Left behind Saw it at the theater screening, and pre-ordered the BluRay about 2 months ago. DS9 rules.

Love it. “What would God want with a spaceship?” Remember seeing it in the theater. Love the type of story — sci fi mixed with religious symbolism and allegory — and it stud with me. Plus that El Capitan scene is classic |
