Hard. I've never been great at these managerial turn based strategy games and this one is no different. Balancing morale, technological advancement, military, economy, etc. is a full bag and really hard, but exciting. The game is kind of unpolished in not really explaining what does what, what the shields mean, the arrows, the diamonds, the coins, the game just kind of leaves you to figure it out and through deduction you'll figure most of it out eventually but at the beginning it's frustrating. The same goes for about all of the buildings and advancements, the game doesn't really tell you what they do in the moment, you have to go to the civpedia in the corner for that, which would've been nice, but I would've preferred if they just could've told me in the building diagram like most newer games. The combat is horrible though, a phalanx beats a battleship? yeah right. Great game, though I imagine the newer ones are better. I seem to recall that someone was playing Colonization a little while back, didn't really like that one.

and IMO, these were probably the last 2 fighting games that really excited me in any meaningful way. Everything else -- including sequels/spinoffs of these games -- feels bland compared to these classics. |

The Doki Doki Panic one. I hate the Lost Levels, I am so glad they didn't release that here. It's the same exact game as the first one, but harder. WOW!
But the Doki Doki Panic release is just brilliant, it takes you to new worlds, and introduces tons of brilliant gameplay elements. That part in level 4 where you ride Birdo's egg for like 30 seconds straight is one of my favorite things in any game ever. Also in one of the levels, you're traveling from magic carpet to magic carpet. That feeling of flying through the air, running from creepy masks after stealing their keys -- the gameplay is effortless, the game just never fails to be fun as fuck. Too bad there are only 4 musical tracks in the entire game, though. |

yeah lost levels sucks.
But I'm shocked you NEVER beat SMB2 before. It was the first one I beat in the series when I was young. I always found it to be an overly easy game. By far the easiest in the series. How come you never beat it earlier?

Yeah, Joe, EVERYONE made fun of my ex for getting with a dull, fat, jobless, idiot... but she was sooooo eager to rip me off $200 and go to Florida, so she could sit on her ass for a year and not have a job or do anything at all... also, she lives 4 hours away from him and sees him like once a month, for a few hours.. real meaningful relationship! Really worth breaking up a SEVEN YEAR relationship for.
....ANYWAY, if you guys wanna see a good cosplay, type CAMMY COSPLAY into google.. |
