I've had that same dream (replace hills with: mountains and/or cave).

however, after spending a week without power at my house, I've decided that I would rather cover the world in concrete and electrical wire instead.

life without electricity sucks ass imo.

But you see, if everyone there is dirty they're not going to mind if you smell too. Not being able to shower would be gross for a while but it would be something you'd get used to. Also, I would make homemade soap for river bathing.
