it's just the lens that came with the D90 kit, 18-105 i think. it's ok but i should start looking for something more suitable for concert photos.

It looks bigger than expected.

Try this for small clubs/venues if you're able to get within 4m of the stage.
It's cheap and very good. You don't need a $2500 lens in a beer-soaked mosh pit.

A friend filed off all the nikon logos on his D90, smacked it up, then patched it up with black gaffa and now walks into all the venues, no probs. Bouncers think the camera's shit, but it's "as new" inside.

thank you! my neck is so long, i used to be taller than my mother even though her shoulders came higher than mine.

in most smaller venues here they allow any photographer, in the bigger ones you just have to act like you're supposed to be there, and in the really big venues you shouldn't even have to bother to try. they search your bags and everything.
