Mobb Deep haven't had a great album since 1999. That new song you linked has the same zombie rapping Havoc and Prodigy have had for way too long.

And Prodigy had a great album in 2007 w/ Return Of The Mac.

That track does sound ill, but I usually find myself getting tired of their sort of music before an album ends. I am not the biggest east coast guy though, I must say.

Speaking of East Coast duos... I've been trying to get into The Underachievers, but just don't find them all that interesting. They just don't bring enough to the table to be competitive/interesting in 2014. They mostly rap about the same old shit with a wider variety of drug references. I've only listened to Lords of Flatbush and while I didn't dislike it, I felt really let down and fairly uninterested.

Dude, why didn't you start with Indigoism? It's a mixtape, but it could be an album. It's not immediately the best thing ever (at least it wasn't for me, though I liked it a lot), but let it sink in and if you're anything like me it will be one of your go-to albums.

It's like A$AP and Wu Tang. I know they're young and learning, but it's better than most debut albums by most artists, and it's just a freaking mixtape.

Flatbush is 1/3 as long, and less focused. Indigoism is their gem so far.

i dig "Taking You Off Here" (even posted that here a while ago) but the rest of the album didn't do much to me, the production is nice but the flows.. ehh. the 2nd disc has some nice stuff though. maybe i'll give it another spin soon.

i don't think i've ever posted about him here before, this guy is easily one of my fav new hip-hop artists.
he's under Rich Gang management, plus he's going to get signed to Cash Money soon.

1017 Thug was already quite dope but i think he's improved so much after that tape, can't wait for him to drop another project.

Top 5 B-List MC's?

My list:
1. Big Moe
Maybe you have to be from Houston to love this guy, but I think he's criminally underrated. He's silly, sincere, and oddly dope enough that all 3 of his albums have gotten regular play from me for years now.

2. B-Legit
He sounds like Too $hort if Too $hort was a member of Screwed Up Click, if that isn't dope I don't know what is.

3. Daz Dillenger
He always hooks it up with the beats and the 16s, not to mention that Retaliation, Revenge, and Getback is one of the most underrated west coast albums of all time.

4. B.G.
His voice can be sort of grating at first, but when it comes to rappers who "keep it real", especially in the south, B.G. is definitely one of the most compelling. It's a shame he shot his talent kind of young and fucked around and got himself locked up.

5. Gunplay
The energy this guy brings man...if only he could get focused and give us that southern classic I know he has in him.

Sure he's not the most competent MC and he doesn't write his rhymes, but somehow he just plain works for me.
