Wavves is like the logical middle child between Hospitals and No Age... maybe better melodies than Hospitals but noisier/punkier than no age. that's my imprssion thus far

I think so, too. He is the most talented of the "new wave" of fingerpickers. I have also had the possibility to talk to him when he came with Jozef van Wissem as Brethren of the free spirit to BCN and he is also a cool guy in person. My fave album of him is "O true Believers". Magic. You all have convinced me to listen to his last album. I'm not lately in a instrumental-folk mood but it's definitely worth trying.

experimental dental school were amazing live. way better live than on record. they lost a member.. the drummer.. so the keyboard player plays drums now. they played a few new songs. They were amazing.

I've only heard a handful of new albums this year... (I don't download and am very picky about what I buy)... and I've liked all of them.
Some of my purchased titles include reissues that are technically "new"... Mission of Burma, CCR, etc.... but I don't think they really count. There are also still a few that I'd like to catch up on. Here's my list of new stuff I loved that is actually new. LP Brighter Than Creation's Dark - Drive-by Truckers Offend Maggie - Deerhoof To Survive - Joan as Police Woman Third - Portishead Santogold - Santogold Smile - Boris Jukebox - Cat Power EP Another World - Antony and the Johnsons A Table Forgotten - Faun Fables |
