If satanism is your game, then good luck with that. The Liver Bird is a mythical bird that protects the city of Liverpool- it's been on seals and flags associated with the city for almost 800 years now. It made absolute sense to put it on the team logo. |

Football/ Soccer seems to be really big in England, and Football (just football) seems big in the US. We don't usually pay attention to those too much in Canada...just hockey.

Against an absolutely dire Derby side. That's £40 million well spent then. Our first real test today - away to Blackburn. The sort of game we were throwing away last season. I just hope that no one falls for Savage's wind-ups.

It was obvious Spurs were gonna pick things up eventually, still don't see you breaking into the top 4 though, as had been predicted.
Man City up against Utd. Nice one. Don't mess with the Egg. |

Nice one!
I've always really liked City. It must be that big city team thing, always in the shadow of more famous rivals. Don't mess with the Scandi Mafia. |

1970. We were quite good in 1970. Great win for us today, even if the other team seemed to have the better of the game. But there's only one statistic that matters, and the scoreboard says 1-0.

I'll just pop my head out from where I'm hiding to say:
Nice one, City! Hip, I'm delighted for you. Have a glass of cider on me. I'm going back into hiding now, I'm trying to avoid discussion of Liverpool v Chelsea. I didn't see it, but I have a feeling the scousers was robbed. |

I reckon Jens Lehman needs to spend more time with his grandchildren and less doddering about in the Arsenal goal. 2 games, 2 goals against. Both through fuck-ups by the crazy German.

I wouldn't trust Jens Lehman with any kids. He might drop them.

And good on you. I listened to the match on Radio Five Live and then saw the goals on Match of the Day. What an absolutely sickening display of refereeing. I hope, and well, I assume, that the Mr. Stiles suffered grievous bodily harm when leaving Anfield this evening. Absolutely shit. If anybody thinks Finnan fouled in that decision they are seriously mentally retarded. Also, what was with Lampard's absurd celebration antics? It was a fucking penalty- standard stuff- he should have hung his head low in shame for taking a win from Liverpool's hands through such dire consequences. I hate that weasel even more than I did before- that greasy cockney twat. On a brighter note, Torres! It was nice to see him get his first goal, and what a goal it was. There were some fine attempts from Babel and Riise too. Kuyt played well. I'm also pretty happy that Man U lost today also. After slagging off Sven in the papers yesterday, I bet Fergie feels like a right knob tonight. |

I know it's not much consolation but Stiles has been dropped for a week after his bizarre decisions on Sunday.
I think that he must be the only person in the country that didn't think he was showing a second yellow to Essien.

you know what, the referees chief spokesman or something was on the radio today explaining that he'd called Benitez and apologised, and that Rob Stiles would be apologising to him too. Doesnt happen every time a ref or linesman gets something catastrophically wrong (See Pedro Mendes' goal that never was against Man U at Old Trafford a couple of years ago) |
