I've said it before but I think it's profound enough to merit repeating: listening to Siamese Dream makes me love everyone, even Porkie.

"Starla" and "Drown" are my two favorite moments, and they're nowhere to be found on the poll... which is fine, but I just thought that it should be known that those are the two greatest Corgan guitar freakouts.

Nice to see some Pumpkins love, Zeitgiest was atrocious though, the mix was was one of the worst mixes i've heard in sometime, particularly on the vocals.

Zero you seem like one of those reformed alcoholics that now thinks alcohol is evil. Just think about what drew you to them in the beginning. Siamese Dream is a masterpiece in the utterly heartbreaking, emotional and romantized teenage suburban dream/nightmare. It reminds me somewhat of Slint's Spiderland.

I went through a hate Pumpkins phase in the mid-1990s, but it's hard to deny that those early albums are masterpieces, especially SD. I also really dig Gish. And I have a lovely bubble gum pink 7 inch on Sub Pop of Tristessa, with a great photo of the band on the cover from the days they preferred showing Darcy front and center. It's funny but when I first got into them, the publicity photos led me to think she was the leader of the band. I was a little disappointed later to learn the band was almost all Corbin. I hate it when bands turn out to be not real bands but more like a one-man show. Removes some of the charm.

after seeing them live this past august, i can tell you two things for sure
about SP: they still play the hell out of their older, best known material, and they desperately miss the inimitable stage presence of mr. james iha.

He's a good musician but he's so apathetic I can't see how he could have stage presence (or maybe you were being ironic ?). |

Well, I think she's much better-looking than D'arcy actually. She also rocked during the Machina tour. |
