I'm not a bass-person at all, but I love the sound of Thierry's bass on this album. And I'll be seeing them two times It could have been three even if my mom wouldn't be having her birthday then... bummer, because it's in a tiny tiny venue

Been enjoying my friend Stefan's record a lot lately.
Jung An Tagen - Vielheiten from TinyMixTapes: All I need is a million monikers to cover myself from the world. Such is the case with our man Stefan: Cruise Family, Nachtbote, (“defunct”) SF Broadcasts, Virtual Vienna, and Jung An Tagen. Glad he’s back to flush out my woes, making music as Jung An Tagen, and catching the ears of Feathered Coyote Records with Vielheiten. It’s straight stress shattering house influenced electronic breakdown of beat collage. Nothing of the sampled realm. All production style sounds. And ready to become one with your psyche. http://www.tinymixtapes.com/chocolat...gen-vielheiten (incl. free stream) |

in case anyone's interested in electronic music, "thousand million" by twwth is probably my favourite ep this year so far. 130bpm grime at its finest

The new Sun Araw Lp Belomancie, he is still one of my favourite artists in contemporary music. Always making new and interesting music with the guitar. This record is less drone than his previous works, there's loads of angular guitar, flutes, horns and alien sounds. https://soundcloud.com/sun-araw/huff...elomancie-2014 |

Anything Steve Gunn puts out at the moment is fucking rad, probably my favourite album from this year. Demented psychedelic folk... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyyHAOrtOSM |

So far, these have been the albums that have made my jaw drop the most:
Untold - Black Light Spiral Death Vessels - Ilsand Intervals https://subpop-img.s3.amazonaws.com/...jpg?1389008422 Morgan Delt - S/t ... And yes, Ghettoville, and the new ASMZ, and Perfect Pussy's Say Yes to Love, which for some reason is not getting a lot of play around here. I'm not sure why. I know they're kind of an it-band, and I guess Pitchfork is going down on them (eh?) but fuck it, it's an album that somehow manages to kick enough ass to make all their media darling nonsense seem inconsequential. |
