Technically, Gandalf is an "Istari" but yeah he is a god damn dirty hippie. If he hadn't been toking that elven gonja the whole time, he would of come up with that "have an eagle fly Frodo over Mt. Doom and drop the ring in" plan. That stoner got Boromir and countless others dead.

You're right! The Balrog basically tripped off the mountain himself and died. Also I don't consider Gandalf dying in the process constitutes a victory.
