I find the 'too British' thing amusing, because of the many very popular British bands of the last mmph years, Blur did the best job of stealing ideas from yanks. Still, one man's meat is another man's racism, y'racist.

i dunno i have a problem with British bands altogether, but D.Albarn has this British accent that i find kinda posh nouveau riche that i particularly dislike. It's totally decent music nonetheless. |

I dislike most British bands for reasons unknown, however i have many a British friends that i absolutely LOVE. not racist, if British is ever a ...race. i just think most of yr musical output is shit. jokes alike the argument of the British stealing from the Yanks is 100% valid. Same for French bands singing in English to American indie-rock ideas. he. |

we stole plenty of ideas from americans, and then they started stealing them from us! and FYI, Damon Albarn's accent is more like a middle class person trying to sound like a working class person. anyway, i'm not sure i've ever listened to a blur album all the way through, but i reckon their first album must be the best because it has their only good song on it. |

Another Blure thread? Blur are one of those bands on this board that people either really seem to dig or really hate with a passion for some reason. I think they are pretty good for a poppy rock band, and I think "Modern Life Is Rubbish" is probobly them at their best, but I don't understand if the hate for "Think Tank" is all people's hate for Damon or what, I still think the album is good over all.

If there ever was a British band playing American music then it's The Rolling Stones... oh, and Bush. That Blur song on the Trainspotting soundtrack is alright I guess; don't know their records or what singles are from which albums. |

13 gets my vote. Haven´t listen to blur in ages, but know I think I´m gonna listen to them when I get home from work.

I wouldn't call Blur britpop. They just don't suit it, and Damon's voice is not "poppy" enough.

Are you trying to tell us that you, a twenty-something Londoner, know more about Britpop than an Australian teenager? That's outrageous!
Anyway, I vote the self-titled one, although the last time I listened to it I found myself skipping more tracks than I thought I would. |
