he was a mentally ill belgian who would post constantly,and every post was a variation on the same monomanic theme - which was misogynistic schizoid hippie nonsense in broken english. floso had fun playing along but it got to the point where the guy was clearly psychotic and ranting constantly, hijacking every thread. i called again and again for him to be banned but the consensus was that he wasnt harming anybody, which was bullshit. eventually after he got nasty stu tried to reason with him and this lead to another incomprehensible splurge of text which invoked the wrath of the banhammer and lead to the creation of the stickied be nice to each other thread.

but the thing is - user after user posted that they were against bannings and laboured under the delusion we just all needed to be nicer to each other. because of this stupidity the forum became a disaster and seemed to hemorrhage decent posters.

I agree with dead_battery, officially banned or not, it was The User Formerly Known As.. that more or less chased everybody away. It got almost pointless to come here because ALL of the top threads at like EVERY hour were just that fuckers' nonsensical, broken English gibberish. It was cute for like a week, but that it lasted over a year is simply ridiculous. If anyone ever deserved to be banned it was him. We've had some obnoxious trollz here over the past decade, but NOTHING like that..

i gave up on the music forum here because it got quite dire and every thread where you tried to say something intelligent was attacked, often by genteel being grumpy.

ive outgrown this place but i still feel some obligation to use it to link to cool stuff occasionally because there was a time before the internet when there was no way for a bumpkin like me to access radical culture outside the fragments and references from mainstream things like sy.

so i will always post about beatriz preciado and things like that despite what anybody thinks.

mostly this place is a deadened hellhole of boring slightly obscure pop culture and shitty indie rock.

I'm pretty clueless only of the stuff you all are going on about. I do think the board is going through a bit of a bored, lifeless phase, but I don't think it's dying.

Then again, Non Sonic Sounds is a barren wasteland where ideas go to die.
