CONGRATS - we make 20 years in April 2018! I don’t have Spotify......too busy listening to podcast and BandCamp I guess? For all the NOTHING talk I never saw about Ryan Adams during the year, his name is making most year end list. |

it's tough for me to talk, because I've been kind of an obsessed fan for a really really long time. So I'm biased. BUT, Prisoner is a really really good album. Like when I try to step back and listen to it with non-obsesso ears. I feel like it's the really solid record that would probably have a wider spread appeal than a lot of his recent albums. Um, if you're interested check out "Shiver & A Shake" which is prob my fav song on the album. And if you like that try "Do You Still Love Me?" for contrast, as those 2 songs are miles away from each other.

Who said you were hurting anyone? I might argue that you’re hurting yourself a bit, by denying yourself exposure to some things you might like (a Weezer fan who hasn’t heard Car Seat Headrest’s Teens of Denial is actually engaging in gross self-negligence), but I never said you were hurting anyone. Just... I dunno. Wow. I listen to Kanye more than any human being should, but I still find time to check new releases every week. I think this is a phase, and you’re doing sort of a musical equivalent of sweatpants and comfort food... which is fine. But... dude. You *know* what I’m getting at here. There might be things you like more than the things you’ve liked for 20 years, but you’ll never know if you don’t... y’know... Wilco is of course awesome. That’s not the point. |

Adam Sandler? You know I’m not the one who’s going to give you *actual* shit for this stuff, but yikes. You are brave. Also, what Röyksopp shiz are you listening to? Man they had a couple of damn good albums a while back... in the ‘00s. Not sure what they’re up to now. |

I'm actually more amazed that The Jerky Boys are in there. I think a lot of that stuff comes from just throwing on random 'comedy' playlists while driving. Sometimes I'll do that to break things up. But I mean, whatever. Adam Sandler, I don't care. His movies are pretty terrible now but if Billy Madison is on TV, I always have to stop and I always laugh. Shrug. I saw that guy at a water park once actually (he's from New England area). Seemed like a real nice guy.
Anyway, I love one Royksopp song: "Eple" - doubt I've ever heard another one of their songs, though.

in 1992, one of my fellow dorm-mates at the univ of Houston went on a trip to NYC and came back with a cassette bootleg of what became The Jerky Boys. Oh jesus we listened to that shit so much.....

he's got one comedy album (that's really funny). But again, the comedy stuff here is a fluke. It's just from me shuffling comedy albums in between music on commutes. It's not like I was like "oh man, I really want to hear that one goat skit from Adam Sandler like 20 times in a row" haha. Showalter's stand-up album is fucking hilarious, though.
