I think GNR in the 90s was GNR-lite. Skid Row was more like GNR's younger, blonde-haired sister.

I don't know, I was kind of thinking more bastard offspring. You're right about the '90s charade though, and I guess Guns were themselves a Hanoi Rocks tribute band.
I wish we had some proper hair metal around nowadays instead of all this pseudo-"indie" horse shit that's clogging up the charts. I'd take Bach over The Killers any day of the year. Oh, and it looks like Philip Collins is storming ahead...

Malibu Beach Nightmare... and how underrated is Until I Get You? But I digress. I wish I lived through that stuff. I'm going to put some Mötley Crüe on and cheer myself up.

Phil's Genesis output was more than reasonable, obviously. But with No Jacket Required he really took his game to the next level.

I like Phil Collins. My father listened to him whilst I was growing up.

I chose the lesser of two evils, Phil Collins.
To be quite honest though, I really don't hate him. Actually, some of his songs are good, if for nothing else than to take me back to being a kid again sitting in the back seat of my parents car. And I would take his music still over anything from the other Genesis off-shoot, Peter Gabriel.

maybe i was under the influence of a certain girl at the time, but i seem to remember gabriel made quite an interesting soundtrack for the last temptation of christ, whereas for phil collins it was all a downward spiral... now as i've said maybe i was under the influence because i think of this and i don't rmemember the music but i remember her & i say "ooooh nice..." hm... someone please enlighten me on this-- was it good? was it actually atrocious? |

I don't know, but Gabriel did some decent shit. I've only got Peter Gabriel 3 but... it's an interesting album.

I don't remember the soundtrack, I just know that I've never heard a PG song I like.

If you're not careful we're going to have a Peter Gabriel incarnation of this thing before long. We've got enough on our hands with Phil Collins being fucking hot property on the boards nowadays without Gabriel getting in on the action.

Ah nuts, I got all confused. I thought this was a poll for Phil Collen, longtime axe-widdler for Def Leppard. What the hell, I voted for Phil Collins anyway.
Why do R & B musicians love the Collins so? Cos his beats are tha shizzle. Surely we all know that by now?
