Well they're out off print records I have doubles but I don't want to open the other. I did some research & I think one of the safest ways I read was placing it between glass & laying it on top of the fridge for a week with some weight on top. I'll try this & keep you posted...

Although you, of course, could use square-cut pieces of glass, it'll probably be safest if you just get circular pieces of glass cut that are a little larger than the record. I don't know if most places do that or not.

never tried it before, but a 12" dry mounting press might do the trick... start at low temperatures and work you way up.... it'll warp the emulsion right off the paper of a color photo if you're not careful, so it it'll flatten the record one way or another... who knows what might happen to the sound though...

..basically the same idea as using a dry mounting press, but without accurate control of temperature and pressure... Quote:

how "out of print" is it? a recently OOP mainstream release? or a long OOP release that was obscure to start with? there are ways of purchasing out of print books and records...

I had this problem with that Royal Trux Singles and Unreleased boxset. I imagine it's a common problem with the set because I had 2 or 3 copies and had to return them all because they were unplayable due to warping. Probably due to the packaging so a lot of them are probably affected. I don't have it anymore, I got fed up and exchanged it for other stuff but if I had a fairly surefire way of unwarping records then I would have given it a shot. Also, apologies for a largely useless post.
