To be honest, the UK is probably too similar to the US. Assuming you want somewhere where you won't have to learn a new language to survive, head for Southern Ireland.

If I was going to quit England, it wouldn't be for another English speaking country. Somewhere European on the Mediterranean, that's where I'd go - France, Italy or Greece.

I got a "Guide to moving to America" for christmas and in it there is a long list of words that are different for americans, mostly to do with cars, like Turnpikes, what the hell is a turnpike?, or a Muffler?
