You may ask; I'm planning on doing theology. I'm hoping to get into somewhere very, very good indeed, but if I don't I can get into somewhere that's merely very good. While it's a deeply useless subject (in terms of jobs) I do have faint plans to have a job doing something I could do, well, and make enough money to line my colon with gold. Ah, vagueness.

it is better to study something you love and to earn no money at it, while supporting yourself with soem regular J O B, than to study some bullshit that you think or that someone has told you will get you a good paycheck after college.
My father had a doctorate in Divinity. that's some heavy shit

I'm sure I'm not the only person who'll paint a psychological profile on the basis of this. Quote:
Hehe. Yeah, I'm quite lucky to be a musician/ writer with a back-up plan that's equally pretentious (but at least moderately likely). All hero worship gratefully received. I'm impressed with your old man - I keep telling my old dear she should do the books thing. But will these parents listen? No, no they won't.

is there an american word for "mobile towbar fitter" ...? or is there no cultural equivalent to this vocation in our united states? is it just one of those things that involves apples and pears or tea and biscuits that we don't have over here?
edit: i'm pretty sure you mean that you drive a tow-truck ...er, lorry. but you never know... maybe it has something to do with helping the kids put on their rubbers before they go out to play...
