not if no jacket required was never made he wouldnt have. actually he would have given up drums altogether and became one of those annoying bastards that work in music stores selling drumsticks to kids and belittling their skinny arms saying shit like "you would be better off buying a bongo to start with sonny, and dont touch my zildyan crash" yknow the type.... smug arsehole.. so if gabriel didnt leave genesis, phil collins would now be a smug arsehole... hold on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh he probably still would have made buster! |

The Sweet are my favourite glam rock band - Ballroom Blitz, Fox On The Run etc.
What about the New York Dolls? Do they qualify as glam rock?

the new york dolls do indeed qualify. even though david johanssen ripped off practically every move from mick jagger.
mick jagger is the poor man's david johanssen.

I'm a fan of glam rock in theory - gorgeous outfits, decadence, campiness - but like T. Rex and The Sweet most of it is total crap.
There is only few good glam like Ladytron which is one of the best pieces of music of all time, other works of Roxy Music, the New York dolls and Ziggy Stardust which is an amazingly epiphanic record.

How about some early Alice Cooper? Love It to Death is an amazing album. The few songs I've heard off of Easy Action are pretty great too.
