Jim Carrey has never been in anything that I would suggest to be essential viewing. Most of what he has done is the same shit with a new context both in his comedy and drama. He reminds me of Will Smith. |

Eternal Sunshine is a great movie, and he acted well in it, but that was mostly the director. Man on the Moon, on the other hand, is one of the best acting performances of all time.

Completely true. Inoffensive humor that was seen as edgy in the early 90's, milked over and over again in mediocre movies, moved toward a more serious acting career, and now more irrelevant than ever.

Like I said, Ali is one. Men In Black was fun even though the sequel took it too far.

cable guy was allright for a movie about unlikeable people in unlikeable siituations played by an unlikeable actor.
dumb and dumber sucked shit. middling stupid movie for people whose minds and humor never left 3rd grade eternal sunshine was allright, but seemed like a fairy tale for desperately lonely and pathetic people. ace ventura's are the same as dumd and dumber, funny if you are stoned. truman show sucked shit, partly because the trailers for the movie showed you EXACTLY WHAT THE PLOT HINGES UPON, by showing a lamp falling out of the sky and hi standing at the "edge" of the ocean where the blue wall touches the cocean. fucking bullshit. anyone with any sense, upon viewing that. knew exactly what was going to happen and when it would happen. I hate that shit so bad. jim carrey is like chevy chase, his movies will seem less and less funny as time goes on.
