Yeah, "The Satanic Mass" put out by the Church Of Satan. I found the cover for it at work, but the record was missing!
I'll photograph it today and put up the pic.

Thank you for this thread.

Here's an AMG review of Comus' First Utterance:

Comus' first album contains an imaginative if elusive brand of experimental folk-rock, with a tense and sometimes distressed vibe. Although there are elements of traditional British folk music, there's an edginess to the songwriting and arrangements that would be entirely alien in a Fairport Convention or Pentangle disc. At times, this straddles the border between folk-rock and the kind of songs you'd expect to be sung at a witches' brew fest, the haunting supernatural atmosphere enhanced by bursts of what sound like a theramin-like violin, hand drums, flute, oboe, ghostly female backup vocals, and detours into almost tribal rhythms. All of this might be making the album sound more attractive than it is; the songs are extremely elongated and fragmented, and the male vocals often have a grating munchkin-like quality, sometimes sounding like a wizened Marc Bolan. The lyrics are impenetrable musings, mixing pastoral scenes of nature with images of gore, torture, madness, and even rape, like particularly disturbing myths being set to music. It's been reissued on CD, but here's one case where you might want to get the LP reissue (on Get Back) instead, as it comes with a bonus 12" of three songs in a similar vein as their rare 1971 EP.

That Comus album is one of my favorite LPs of all time, but it's not an LP with direct ritual-occult applications as its intent.

The Anti Group (or TAGC) made some recordings for ritual purposes. There's another one I can't remember that came out on cassette only where all the instruments were human bones. I'll have to consult my friend who has that one, since the name escapes me. I can see the cover in my mind too; drives me crazy when that happens.

I'm sure there's a recording from around that period of a satanic ritual performed by the occultist Alex Sanders. I've never heard it but it does exist apparantly. I've had a look for it but not found anything. If anyone has this and can upload it, or knows where it might be on the interweb, I'll be eternally in your debt. It may well be the same thing that Savage Clone mentioned.

Are you thinking of the electronic LP "Black Mass Lucifer?"

Got that one too; several copies in fact.

Also the private press Wilburn Burchette LPs "Guitar Grimoire," "Occult Concert" and "Music Of The Godhead" from the early 1970s, which I first found out about via Mutant Sounds.

Some of the early Coil stuff was pretty ritualistic. 'The Angelic Conversation' is one that springs to mind. Also Vagina Dentata Organ's 'Music for Hashishins'.

"How To Destroy Angels" by Coil is straight-up ritual music intended for the "accumulation of male sexual energy."

I was thinking of Coven - "Witchcraft Destroys Minds And Reaps Souls" there's a track of satanic chanting on there apparently.

I've found three copies of that Coven LP so far. Too bad they pretty much sound like Jefferson Airplane most of the time. The cover is amazing though.
