no, they're just guitars built to their specifications.

no, not a tool, but feel like a fool for not having one...
want a 2008 American Deluxe strat right now actually with the double humbucker and 2 single coils but it's a grand...to try and replicate a magical instrument i had in days of yore that Buren Fowler (Drivin' N Cryin') helped me with...fender must've heard about this gtr haa my custom was just like this only it was canary yellow instead of orange sunburst thinking about getting a custom Fender Squier "strat" with 2 doubles instead though on the cheap...it's only 150 at a pawn shop...wood on those is supposed to be only average, but it feels really heavy///looks cool too...forest green with black pickguard///even so, it blows a gibson sg away...at least at holding tune.../..advice? guitars r an addiction |

if i recall, the Mascis model is $100 less then the regular model, and have to think atleast Thurston's would be so (Lee's has those tele humbuckers and not sure if they cost more) and from an economic standpoint it's more cost effective i still really like the color of the Mascis one though the best |

I suppose Fender only make about, 1200, jazzmasters a year and I suppose it makes sense to designate 30% of them to a designated relic...

No idea. These are just prototypes, no idea if they'll go into production.

There are two ways of looking at this...
A) you are copying an original and have no creativty and should smash your mirror B) they are the industry standard type instrument and we should all just agree that they are really good guitars...

I've alredy got one that I did myself. Fun fun guitar.
I ended up also buying the Elvis Costello signature Jazzmaster simply becuase it was a great guitar. It was one of the only offsets I had ever seen in my local guitar center store and I made that thing disappear. <3 that 70's stain finish. If the SY sigs are anything like them they're going to rule. SO, YES. I FEEL LIKE A TOOL!

Well, I don't know if I would buy one. More inclined to buy a T or a L than a JMas though. No dig against J., but T and L have a better sound and I definitely think they deserve their sig models if they wished to. I guess they would have to be fed through a wood chipper to get the look. I wouldn't mind having some of the add-ons they both have done to their guitars, and I imagine drumsticks would be standard. The Jazzmaster is the best guitar though!
