And I'd wager, Mr G Mcporky, that you would've been a lot more generous to the band, and listened/ watched that video more often if they had a decent name - am I correct?

prokmarras: you're a really great guy, thanks!
Glice: When giving it a little thinking, I somewhat agree with you. I sometimes review records for a website, and once, I was being send a cd of a band called ENOLA. A lame ass pop/rock band from denmark, who call themself ENOLA. Why? Because it means the opposite of alone, the feeling you should get while listening to their album. I'm sorry but, jeez, what a lame-o name. And it's really ironic that one of the US bombplanes that dropped atomicbombs over Japan was named Enola Gay. Bandnames do matter, I would have given them a better chance if their name was better. |

Too many strange characters for me to spell it right. Pretty awful band. I'm not sure if their name is slightly less crap in other languages, but all the silly characters in it really annoy me.

Band names with X's in are usually good: Xinlisupreme, Xhol Caravan, Xasthur, X-ray Spex, Xiu-xiu (never heard them, but good name). Conversely, names with Z's in are usually crap (especially when it's one of those Z's that does the same job as an 's', but in a more 'street' way.

Well, in english their name means "The Midwives of Perdition", which pretty much is just as bad. There was a scandal involving them and oral sex being performed in all ages show. I haven't really heard their music but it's rubbish, from what I remember. |

It is also in the pronunciation of the X at the start of the name that it transpires that the band might have something to offer instead of,say, bands that have names that start with a H.I might be wrong on this one(and i'm never, ever wrong i tell you) but i'll think about it a little bit more.

Another case in point are bands that have the word generation in their name like:
Generation x |

You don't like listening to Dinosaur Jr? Are you nuts? They're one of the best bands of the past 40 years! J Masics is one of the most innovarive guitarists since Hendrix!

I don't listen to any emo-punk (My Chemical Romance, Thursday, Senses Fail, AFI, all that shit). It's just plain bad music. It sucks. Pure and simple shitty, fucking music.

generally speaking if a band's name has for than either 3 words or 5 sylables i will avoid them. it's just wanky. |
