Wasn't chappy chap out of Franz Ferdinand in the Yummy Fur? Or did I entirely imagine that?

There was a great golden age of Scottish pop - Arab Strap, Mogwai, Delgadoes, Yummy Fur, Urusei Yatsura, early Belle and Sebastian, the Pastels... Fuck me, do you remember Prolapse? No one ever remembers them, they were fucking ace. I remember Mick (who's a professional archaeologist, apparently) getting us drinks when we were lowly 14 year olds. They gave to me and signed a 7" for me with a load of strangeness. Excellent band, lovely (albeit incomprehensible) people.
Prolapse maaaannnnnnnnn!!!I had the 'Tricolore' lp and a few singles.Yes,they were a good band and you have perfectly described that moment in time when Scotland could do no wrong in my eyes.A couple of the Franz guys were indeed in Yummy Fur.

I remember Prolapse supporting SY at Kentish Town Forum on the Washing Machine tour.

04/19/96 - London, England @ Forum
Date: Friday, April 19th, 1996
City: London, England
Venue: Forum

OTHER PERFORMERS
Prolapse
Ascension

The only thing I remember is them being totally chaotic, and, yes, totally incomprehensible.

This wasn't really worth my posting was it?

I only get what I can afford for now. So far I only have all the main albums, a couple SYR's and some solo albums. I'm hoping to expand my collection alittle at the SY show next Monday.

wow, Ascension that's a blast from the past. Me and Chris Corsano had a conversation about this duo last year... they were killer guitar/drums improv ala Rudolph Grey. Stefan Jaworzyn whatever happened to that guy (isn't he a writer/critic for Wire? er something like that).

anyways, completist sorta maybe but no... i do not have a few things i nearly have everything some of the more hard to find and less interesting stuff i have on cdr, usually compilations and soundtracks i do not buy because the rest of the bands on them are usually shit.

I try to buy everything, but I really just buy what I can afford.
I have all the studio albums.
I downloaded the SYR's, but I'm saving up to get them.

i would like to get hold of rare stuff I would enjoy, If I had money I would pay top dollar for the Flower EP or Kill Yr. Idols EP

i pretty much have nothing though just Confusion is Sex, a bunch of bootleg cdrs, and Gila Monster Jamboree VHS. Nothing else is really worth it but I do plan on getting the SY EP reissue.

Oh, and I also had Goo but burned it with a cigarette and threw it in a river....

300 items? Holy fuck!

What criteria are we using when defining "completist"? Does one count every piece of vinyl, cd's, video's, dvd's, t-shirts, books, posters, buttons, etc? And what about solo works, side bands (like Free Kitten, Dim Stars and Harry Crews), and other people's cd's they've played on (Epic Soundtracks, Christina Rosenvinge, etc)?

I've got all their studio full lengths and SYR1. I'd like to get the rest of the SYR's, at least.
