I've got a soft-spot for burn-outs since I am so close to being among their number, so I feel compelled to offer my assistance:

Am I the only one appalled by the pervasive chintzy quality of the opinions that are far too often expressed regarding Sonic Youth?

Then again, if I'm not burned out by now, then I probably am incapable of reaping the dehibilitating effects that are usually associated with my so-called "self-destructive" behaviors.

Good try at using big words, but the sentence sounds awkward. I'd get rid of pervasive and chintzy, and perhaps replace them with something more appropriate, if anything at all.

"Pervasive" can go, and I see your point haha. It is better without it. It's a bit redundant to use that word along with "far too often."

"Chintzy" stays though. It's far more descriptive and apt than "cheap."

What? ...and use "bad", "terrible", "horrendous" or "horrible" instead?
You've got to have an adjective in front of "quality" or else the sentence assumes that the reader can figure it out based on context. Pick a modifier in your infinite wisdom, please. Oh yeah, and stop getting cunty with me.

I was just writing to tell you to go have a bucket of KFC and a KFC commercial just started.

It's not necessarily a very remarkable coincidence, but it is one nevertheless.

I know why I have to be a know-it-all; it's because I am, in fact, a genuine know-it-all bastard. I can't help this. I'm not sure exactly why you are such a bitch though. It seems like something that could possibly be helped by making a concerted effort to change yourself. You're gonna end up hurting yourself or someone one day because you have problems. I'm being a bit nasty, it's true, but I'm also telling you this for your own good after observing your posts for a good long while now.

You see, I'm someone that freely mocks those that incant the "name of Jesus" per their brainwashing. But I'm also someone that would never malign the essential teachings of Jesus. The fact that I just lost you and you do not see how this relates to anything, only serves to make my point stronger that you really should do some work on yourself to be more positive.

I was just engaging in loving my enemy, then I wrote the part about Jesus, to be honest, as an afterthought to hopefully redeem this stupid thread a bit. I'm sorry it bugged you out so badly. Do you have any further incorrectly punctuated one-sentence retorts up your sleeve for me?
I do realize that religion is a steaming pile of shit, but I freely open myself up to be mocked by those that want to discount basic principles to live by like:

To worship you do not need a church building or rituals because they are unecessary and the temple is the body itself

and

judge not, lest you be judged yourself, or at least try to reserve judgement and maintain a mindset of tolerance because life is a process.

I fail to see how either of those two points can be criticized by anyone unless they are insane.

If one perpetually acts like a bitch, then they can be characterized as such. Although it's not the ideal word to use, it is an attention-getter.

On a more positive note, I like Sam Waterson's character as the blind rabbi in Crimes & Misdemeanors.

His "robot insurance" commercial for Saturday Night Live is classic comedy.

I can name many of his movies that are quite attention-getting, but I can't name any Waters movies that are good cinema. Cry-Baby comes the closest, and that's mainly due to Depp's performance. Pecker got a lot of buzz, and it's probably his second best, but it's really not very good at all; Ricci is also not that great of an actress despite the indie cred she earned with Buffalo '66.
His work sort of occupies a middle ground between Paul Morrissey and regular Hollywood films, and he's vastly overrated by those that give a dogturd-eating shit about his movies. It seems to be a law that one must adore him if one is queer.
I liked him as a guest star on Homicide: Life on the Street (also set in Baltimore) and I loved him on The Simpsons.

I wrote that because you are one of the last people on this board that I would expect to post in a sensationalistic trouble-for-the-sake-of-trouble topic like this and I didn't express myself well, partially because I erroneously figured you would understand. I should know better than to assume something like that. You hardly ever post, and when you do, it's usually something mature. You are European (I think*), so I guess that's what was the catalyst for your posting here in the first place.

I met him at a bookstore a while ago; he had just put out a sex/art book. He seemed nice to me.

It's nice that were agreeing a little about something. My post about Waters was somewhat harsh and a bit of a bitter pill to swallow for those that may like his movies.

I'm signing off in a minute, but I do want to get this next part in because it relates to walking a mile in someone else's shoes.

I've noticed that there's more than just a few similarities between how the Brits on this board act and how elitists act and how racists act. Consider that you'll never have an American (unless it's some wacko like crytowonderdruginvogue having some sick "fun") that would post a topic like "I like to wind the British up" and turn the tables. It'll never happen. Why? Europeans, and especially the British that used to rule the world with their Navy, resent it that America won independence and has thrived. They also find it exceedingly distasteful that Americans have, in their view (& they have a point) "butchered" their language as well.
These days, with Bush being such a cowboy doofus, it makes it easier for that learned hosility towards America to seep out like it has in a thread like "I like to wind Americans Up." Why is this? What it signifies is an inferiority complex in the guise of the elitism that appears on the surface to be the opposite. The British and other Europeans as well assume that Americans think they are superior to everyone which isn't the case. The beliefs of most Americans are being confused with the policies of the U.S. Government.
