^Sorry, but I'm rooting for Ivory Coast.
I'd really like to see at least one African team make it to the second round... which means it'll have to be either them or Ghana. About Italy vs New Zealand again: I just read that New Zealand has one(!) professional football team. Andy Barron, who came on for New zealand at the end, works in a bank. He had to get time off work to go to South Africa. I also read that Italy are the current world champions, but found that hard to believe. |

im happy brazil is ahead and it was an awesome goal but that's about the only brilliant play i've seen them do. they are all fallen back with ivory coast trying to put pressure of them and can't do much on the offensive. then lucio playing and fucking up as a right forward. dunga used to do that, and he was awesome, but if i recall he wasn't a fullback, but maybe he's wanting to turn the whole team into a reflection of himself-- a defender who goes on the attack.
sure, you can win 1-0, but it's a risky proposition. i'm really not enjoying brazil's game, they are organized, yes, and they are winning, but it's a dull fucking way to play. much to my chagrin i'll have to pick a new favorite team if they continue like this. ----- edit: ah shit luis fabiano again, shutting me up-- it's flashes of individual brilliance that keep brazil entertaining. if there were only more... there might have been a hand though. |

i think the ref realized that later, but he couldn't reverse his own call-- or could he? not sure the game had restarted yet. that doesn't make him any less fucking shitty than he was. the game turned awful with fouls, the ref let it happen. two almost-brawls. players hurt. and i hope elano is in one piece & can keep playing-- fucking ref didn't even penalize that cuz he didn't see it. |

I agree but he had to be cheeky? tho if referee had done something about the overall nastyness going on earlier it wouldn't have ended up that way??? anyway, yays.

i like this sport but Fifa is a joke. I'm sorry. how many more blown calls til they join the 21st century? it really wouldn't be much trouble at all to have a ref/judge sitting in front of 9 instant replay cameras, and to give him the final say. and it wouldn't slow the game down because these aren't calls that need to be reviewed over and over, they are obvious blown calls
