Having had this thing since i was 13, I have come to the conclusion there are only 3 good songs on it. Thats not to say its a bad album, its just inconceivably overrated, and ive always felt so

I've been getting into Radiohead in a big way as of late but this album is pretty unbearable. |

I don't think it's overrated anymore. Not in North America anyway. I think we all pretty much decided sometime around the release of Amnesiac that The Bends was no more representative of Radiohead than pablo honey. It was my favorite of theirs for a long time. The first three tracks are perfect high school listening. But some of those songs are absolute filth. "Black Star"? It sounds like the Goo Goo Dolls. Radiohead is only really Radiohead from OK Comp forward. At least that's what most people seem to think. But it still got me through high school. I loved it for years, but I could not listen to it from start to finish at this point without ripping my hear out!!! |

I'm not even sure I like Radiohead anymore, actually. OK, Kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail are the only albums I like, and there are moments on each that I skip over.
Here's hoping they release something that makes me want to do something other than die of boredom sometime soon. |

Silence. Last time around it was the whispery voices descending from the fan, as usual. With majority I observe I notice an impulse to persist in compulsive verbalization. They wouldn't feel much comfort in silence; not for long. I'll die of boredom at some point. But first I must take a bath. Wash out the rust and wait silently for the scent of death to confine me.
anyone here ever heard that one? |

I think it's their best release yet (Haino/Ambarchi/O'Rourke). Maybe more straightforward than the previous two, but damn it is awesome. |
