the "look" of it is simply great, how the scenes are shot when she walks in the mall and the heavy rain shots, just great. I still feel a bit unsure about my "judgment" on the movie itself, it's full of interesting ideas and thought provoking bits but it leaves me a weird, undescribable feeling (I watched it like 3-4 times counting last night).
factory girl was nice, sienna miller is nice, I'm not sure about the actual quality of it either, I'm not an expert of the actual "events" so I won't adventure further in a comment. hey adam, how's life? pm me ha ha.

Anyone see Quantum of Solace yet? What's your view of it? I read two reviews of it so far and both were saying it wasn't good, at all. Is it really that bad? Even if its not as good as "Casino Royale" is it worth seeing?

alien anal: I don't know what world war z is............ yet...
LifeDistortion: A guy I worked with saw it and said it was "alright". Of course he liked that last Indiana Jones movie... well, he said THAT was "alright" as well... so yeah. I mean, it's a James Bond movie, they're usually entertaining enough. I'd see it if I liked James Bond. Either way. |

Someone I work with saw it (at a midnight showing when he had to work at 9 the next day-not a good move) and said it was good but not as good as Casino Royale.
Actually, have any of the Bond films been "good" in a "good movie" sense? Most of them seem to have a cheesiness factor that makes them enjoyable, but keeps them from being "good movies"...

That's what I say, I mean with Casino they had a lot to work with, showing Bond's start and how he sort of started out making bad choices, like falling for women he shouldn't get too close too. And those differences kind of made the movie what it was, other then the fact it was also exceptionally gritty. QOS is supposed to be quite gritty as well, and is basically a revenge movie, and I usually judge a movie based on the trailer and the trailer was great. So if the only argument is that its NOT "Casino Royale" then maybe the bad press is a bit unwarrented.

Watched Flawless tonight, with Michael Caine and Demi Moore.
It was okay. Nothing special, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. |

Yeah, I loved Vital. It's great. My favorite Tsukamoto films are Tetsuo I, Gemini (really underrated), and Tokyo Fist.. Though I love everything he's done except for nightmare detective (and the goofy Hiruko the Goblin isn't that great but it's okay). I wish I could see Haze. That's the only film of his I haven't seen -- I've even seen his short films. Phantom of Regular size is crazy! Sorry to be longwinded. Vital rules. It's a bit different than what a person would probably expect, but the atmosphere is just amazing... for some reason, Tadanobou Asano keeps getting casted in these similiarly minded, brilliant films with these really lonely atmospheres... Bright future, Last Life in the Universe, Rampo Noir, and his story in Survive Style 5+ come to mind... he's great.

No! I'd love to, though I dunno if it's available in America. As it is, I'm currently attempting to buy his last films that hasn't been released here (and he already has ANOTHER film since then that isn't out at all except it played in the festivals and such)... I already got Takeshis and it's amazing...
I know he's written over 60 novels and he has some books of just art and such that I'd love to eventually get, but dunno if I'll ever be able to.. |
