I've been on a total hip-hop kick lately, buying tons of great underground shit. THe new DOOM is beyond amazing. But for some reason stopped posting in this thread, then thought to start agian with my first majot non-hip-hop set of purchases. Weird. Ah well.
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way (Vinyl!!! Just repress, but still, fuckign love it! That cover as an lp? Awesome) Richard Dawson, Allie May, Jazzfinger and Neville Clay - Richard May Jazzfinger Clay (Split album of 2 local songwriters with amazing poetry and noise jammed in the middle. Brilliant. You all need to check out Richard Dawson as soon as possible) (CD) Alcest - Souvenirs D'Un Autre Monde (CD) Red Red Meat - Bunny Gets Paid (CD)

Oh sweet! Also yeah gohleekwang, it's always been among my favourites too. And it had THE greatest Miles Davis album cover, which, coming from the artist who made Bitches Brew, is saying something. I can just stare and stare at it. One of the great "atmospheric" albums. Just so flowing and beautiful and funky. Possibly the greatest "staying up late" album ever. Competes with the Plugged Nickel recordings and Bitches Brew for my top Miles. Oh and obviously Kind of Blue. Cliche it may be, but Blue really is an amazing record, and the reason I listen to jazz now.

I knew In a Silent Way going to be one of my absolute favorite albums ever just from hearing the first few seconds of Shhh/Peaceful. Heavenly.

I'm just coming down from a month long doom metal kick and I wanted to support independent record stores today so I made a couple of purchases. It's been nothing but snowy and rainy here in Denver so I was in the mood for some mellow tunes and I picked up "The Floodlight Collective" by Lotus Plaza, and "You Can Have What You Want" by Papercuts.
