i think i m gonna take a break. from painting.
cant do both, dont have the discipline.
i m gonna name a folder 'still life and other fast shit'
and work with any left over paper i have
and old little cheap tubes of color and color pencils and all random stuff
and work on my still life - have done smth like only a handful in my life
hopefully practice on drawing as well
some abstract as well

general apologises for my rants and whining
the only place i want to do this

painting vs still life/charcoal drawing sessions and doing fast stuff to unblock me.

have smth like 6 unfinished paintings; currently 'was' working on the 2.

perhaps if i start with the sessions, gradually will fit the painting during the day.

ah i see. you're still working, just differently. you scared me for a minute!

is 6 unfinished pieces a lot though? i have ADHD and have a tendency to start a lot of stuff ha ha ha….

ha ha ha! those are cool! (and beware of getting sued by the perpetual extenders of copyright)

yeah adhd is not like you can't focus on something but it's more like you can't decide on what you'll focus. so on the one hand you have inattention but on the opposite you have hyperfocus.

i can't work on repetitive boring things. stuff like-- deveining shrimp-- forget about it, i'd rather eat the dirt.

but if something really gets my attention i can get into it and ignore everything else, for days.

so i try to use hyperfocus for work and then i set up the distractions that will make me do what i want. a bit complicated to explain here but it's all about managing my environment, using timers, etc.

anyway so are you planing to finish your 6 paintings after a break or did the projects crash for good?
