Okay well as it turned out I didn't play much more of GW2. I guess what I saw and experienced wasn't quite enough for me to rush back to play more beta. I think PVP was down the whole time.
Oh yeah and the graphics are really nice if you put them up the full way. The city of Divinity's Reach is beautiful and there are places to climb up and look out on it. It certainly looks better than than say, WoW's Stormwind. The one thing I didn't like though is that there weren't as many buildings you could go into and explore. There are, however, portals throughout the city. I couldn't tell if they are actual shortcuts or not, the city seemed immense. Lastly and importantly to anyone but me, I put two of my friends on my contact list and never saw either one of them.

Read good things about Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, so decided to buy a copy. I'm sure some of you here have played it. Verdict?

I've read a lot of good things about Witcher2, but never played. I assumed it was an attempt to lure fans from Skyrim.
Civ V is a blast, although those rat-bastard egyptians are busy tearing down my babylonian dreamcities while I focused on my goal of winning australia back from the barbarians (so I can build nukes there). First chance I get, and I'm nuking the world. |

I know why I didn't play this game upon it's release. The original cover art doesn't look too thrilling for a 12 year old.
But yeah...it's a pretty neat game. Played for about an hour yesterday...though like 30 minutes were spent in the first room because I'm a total dumbass....It was literally as easy as walking forward to progress in the game but I was looking for a switch checking ever area like twice....and it was kind of a big room....But yeaha...after that it was starting to feel like it might get crazy hard. The enemies are just shadows and you beat them with that stick. Though you can't die and game over is when the girl your are transporting is dragged away by those shadows. |

Fallout 3, after which I will replay Fallout New Vegas.
I had a go at Fallout 3 last year, but it glitched and wouldn't let me do the main quest. Got a lot further with it now, and have all the add-ons this time. I really loved New Vegas. Sometimes dipping into Ridge Racer Unbounded and SSX too. And some crazy golf one I can't remember the name of.

I had to pop out for a pint of milk. The rest in uncertain. When I came back, I found that Lancashire are county cricket champions and Manchester City are Premiership champions, so I think I have reappeared in a bizarre but very lovely world were the sports teams I follow actually win things. We still need milk though.

Joe, you've never played Ico or SOTC? What's wrong w/ you? You can get them bundled together in HD on yr PS3 for cheap dood. Jump on that. SOTC is easily one of my favorite games of all time. Just mind blowing. Ico is great too.
Anyway, my wife got me this yesterday and it's great:

Thank you. I missed you and other people too, but, you know, I don't know. I'm really looking forward to Metro Last Light coming out, because Metro 2033 is one of the best things ever.

My neice picked this up. I'll probably borrow it. Though I believe I'll be borrowing FFXIII first... Btw How did you like FFXIII NR? The battles looked quite similar to FFXII. Which...kind of annoys me....as I don't like those "gambits" to control the other party characters.... |

@evol: I wasn't a fan of XII at all, but I really enjoyed XIII. It was actually one of two PS3 games I owned BEFORE I owned the system (the other was SSF4). A lot of people give XIII flack for it being so linear, though I found that kind of refreshing. No "wtf do I go next?" y'know? The battle system was fun as hell too. And I know I'm in the minority, but i enjoyed the characters and.
HOWEVER, XIII-2 (which also seems to have flopped, relatively speaking) I think is an even better game. Gone is the linear gameplay, but it's really really great. It follows the little sister of Lightning, the heroine in the first game. Oh and they're both stunningly beautiful looking games in HD. What kills me is I have not finished either (it takes me FOREVER to beat RPG's dood. I play for a week, then put it away for a month or two haha) and I lost all my game saves when I hastily swapped HDD's in my PS3 a few months back. At any rate, if interested you can get both XIII and XIII-2 really cheap these days. Hell, XIII-2 is on sale for like $15 at Best Buy right now.

Hmmm nice. Yeah, the whole linear argument isn't much of an issue. I'm only really worried about the battle system. And the whole thing about buying spells n shit....But...I guess ill try to go into this game ignorant of all the bad things I've heard.
Also...If my niece hasn't ggotten xiii_2 ill probably buy that for her to play while I beat xiii. |

word, I can't believe how cheap XIII-2 is. $15-$20 seems like what all the sales have been lately. I mean it came out what? Feb? I bought it for $40 within a month of release even. Weird. Considering it's a big name game, I feel like it's one ofthe most slept on games of the year.
