i am ... 100(?) pages in? I like it. At first it was weird, cause I didnt know what was happening. It's basically a guy telling the history of his life while also explaining he history of photography and what being an ethnographer is - FUN! so much learning!!!

I have others that are still in early "testing" to see if I want to continue them.

I've checked out "Hello From the Magic Tavern" it's kinda neat. It's kind of kooky (the history of how he ends up in the alternate universe of Foon is that it was a portal behind a Burger King).
I kinda forgot about it. Currently I just found a new podcast called Sex With Strangers, and it's about sex and sex work around the world. The first episode took place in Tokyo, he's done gay men using Grindr in Wyoming, and the Amish. Pretty good stuff so far.

Wtf lel. A simple yes or no would suffice: then we can move onto the judgement phase. This consists of basic manic frowning, as per internet course. |

woh! a classic that once upon a time scandalized the world
i think he’s brilliant of course some humanities people and ideologues abhor him because they’d like to believe humans are infinitely socially programmable—which is complete bullshit |

This better work. Uploadeding pictures via your phone is a pain in the ass on here. I'll admit Anna Karenina has taken the back seat a little bit and all because of this book. Basically it's all about the psychology of climbing and how to get rid of those negative feelings and fears (especially when it comes to falling). Physically I know I've always been able to climb to a high standard, not Alex Honnold levels for suren. However, it was/is my mental state that's always stopped me from progressing. Man, this book has certainly made a massive difference. I've a way to go before the appearances of negativity can be brushed aside easily but I'm getting there. I feel like mental strength is something that can be overlooked in anything. All well and good having the skills and potential to be a great football player or computer genius, but if you don't have the mental strength there you're fucked and you'll be limiting any progress you'll have. Problem is that so many things can determine whether you have the street inside. Be it from external factors like your teacher all the way to what your goals are for your chosen area. Funny old thing the brain, ain't it.

Does the science in that book still hold up today? Not meaning his general gist, more the finer details they have to write about. Lord knows there's been so many advances and new knowledge come through in the last 30 years about evolution etc.
