the best/worst ed wood film = orgy of the dead.
the "novel"/script is credited to him, but the directing isn't... but some believe the director's name is just a pseudonym for wood, because all of wood's actors (criswell, ghoulina or whatever her name is, etc) appear in it.. anyway.. check it out.. |

I've seen clips of it in the movie "Ed Wood: Look Back in Angora." It looked positively awful. To my recollection I've seen Plan 9, Glen or Glenda, and Bride of the Monster. |

I actually thought it a rather bore. SO self-absorbed in its own plot. But if you want porn, go for it. |

I'm not sure how anyone could find Tetsuo BORING. Dislike it, maybe, but BORING? I mean it's only like 60 minutes for christ sakes..
Anyway, a movie I forgot to mention.. and we're slowly backing away from cyberpunk here, so I will go ahead.. WILD ZERO. |

The Education of Sonny Carson
It's about a kid growing up in NY gang life circa 1970's. It was sampled by Ghostface on IronMan & has a great message.

yeah, just ordered that Alejandro Jodorowsky box set and Space Is The Place. Saw Holy Mountain a long time ago and quickly became the wierdest and best thing I've ever seen! but wait to check out El Topo!
My advice is to get into a new genre/director and start exploring all the best titles. Last year I went through a big noir period - started with The Maltese Falcon and went right up to Orson Welles' Touch of Evil. Good times for all involved. |

yeah, the holy mountain is technically better, but i prefer el topo because it focuses on one person... Holy Mountain has a lot of the same ideas and it's more visually amazing and better in every way... it just... I dunno. El Topo seems to speak to my heart more.

taxi driver is my OTHER favorite film of all time and the film i've seen more than any other.
manos is also amazing. get the non-mst3k version. it's a very very creepy film. the jazz soundtrack and the lighting of the seconds and the just overall disconnectedness of the whole thing is overwhelmingly dark... |

Fando is excellent.. beautifully abstract.. Santa is weird, I like it a lot, but... it actually may be his weirdest film... I'm not exactly sure what message it's trying to convey... still, excellent... Jodorowksy is a hero...
